All categories of non – commercial institutions / organizations, State Nodal Agencies, Electricity Boards, Panchayats, Zilla Parishads and DRDAs. (Except for beneficiaries from remote un-electrified census villages and urban municipalities)

 

SPV Power Plants / Other Systems

All categories of non- commercial institutions / organizations, State Nodal Agencies, Electricity Boards, Panchayats, Zilla Parishads and DRDAs. (Except for beneficiaries from remote un-electrified census villages and urban municipalities)

Solar Pumps

All category of users

 

    With regard to solar lanterns, a school going girl child residing in the un-electrified villages and hamlets of the special category states and island UTs, belonging to BPL family and studying in class IX – XII, is eligible to get only one lantern during her entire period of school study.

   Preference may be given to projects which are to be implemented in SC/ST dominated areas, community/cluster installations or where funds have been tied up with other Government Departments/Ministries, MPLAD, MLALAD funds

Soft Loan for Purchase of Solar PV Water Pumping Systems

Users of solar PV water pumping systems and intermediaries are eligible to avail a soft loan at the rate of 5% / 2.5% per annum respectively for up to 90 % of the remaining unsubsidized part of the price of the SPV water pumping system. The loan can be repaid in installments, in a maximum of 10 years, beginning at the end of the first year after sanction of loan.

Soft Loan for Manufacture of Silicon and Solar Cell Modules

The Ministry is providing soft loan at 5% annual interest rate through IREDA for setting up manufacturing facilities for manufacture of poly silicon material, silicon ingots and wafers, solar cells or integrated solar cell-module plants. No soft loan is available for setting up manufacturing unit for module manufacture or PV system manufacture. The proposals are considered by IREDA as per their lending and project appraisal norms.
